Patch ....
Patch is a "the dog too brave to die" having survived a 3.5hr operation to repair a congenital birth defect, a diaphragmatic hernia and a collapsed lung. She spent a month in the hospital but is now a hale and hearty 18 month old. She surfs and goes boating in the gentle Fire Island Inlet on Long Island, plays ball with her dog and human friends at home in Delaware, takes rides in the car (giving directions to the park).
